BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
View Heights Convalescent Hospital provides services for adult men and women diagnosed with a number of mental and behavorial health conditions. Our trained and specialized professionals known as the Inter-Disciplinary Treatment Team (IDT) have the necessary skills and experience to stabilize our clientele and work with them for a successful re-entry into the community.
We are proud that our Special Treatment Program (STP) has been certified by the State Department of Mental Health for the provision of services for the chronically mentally ill and dually-diagnosed individuals.
Some of the categories of mental and behavorial health conditions we work with include:
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders are described as excessive and abnormal fear, worry and anxiety. In a survey published in the Archives of General Psychology, it was estimated that as many as 18% of American adults suffer from at least one anxiety disorder. There are many types of anxiety disorders include; panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias and society anxiety.
Cognitive Disorders
Cognitive disorders are psychological disorders that involve cognitive abilities such as memory, problem solving and perception. Types of cognitive disorders include; delirium, dementia and amnesia. (Please be advised that our facility does not provide services for clients diagnosed with Alzheimers or dementia.)
Dissociative Disorders (formerly known as multiple personality disorder)
Dissociative disorders are psychological disorders that involve a dissociation or interruption in aspects of consciousness, including identity and memory.
Mood Disorders
Examples of mood disorders include; bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder and schizophrenia.
